Certification Pilot Launched for Fitness & Leisure Courses
Following a review of the AfN Certified Course quality assurance scheme, a pilot has been launched on revisions to the scheme.
Applications are now welcomed for courses designed for those working or volunteering in roles within the fitness and leisure sector, where individuals hold roles that provide an opportunity to support the public in following UK healthy eating and lifestyle recommendations.
Certified courses are designed to provide an introduction to nutrition science and provide relevant nutrition knowledge and skills for those working/volunteering in jobs where nutrition is important to their role, but does not require the depth of knowledge of a registered Nutritionist (RNutr or ANutr). Undertaking a Certified Course means you can be assured the content is evidence-based.
Applications for courses designed for the catering and health & social care sectors will open over the spring/early summer.
