QA (Non-Degree) Committee Member
We are currently seeking to recruit a new member to our Quality Assurance (Non-Degree) Committee.
This is an opportunity for an ANutr or RNutr to increase their knowledge about the delivery of the schemes across the UK, and to contribute the development of AfN’s policies and strategic approach to Certification and CPD.
The Committee
The Quality Assurance (Non-Degree) (QAND) Committee oversees the AfN Certification and CPD Endorsement Schemes on behalf of the AfN Council.
The Committee usually meets three times a year (online) to consider matters relating to Certification and CPD Endorsement.
Members of the committee include lay members and registrants with expertise across education, training, quality assurance and the framework sectors.
The Chair of the Committee has a seat on AfN Council.

Time Commitment
Committee Members are typically appointed for a three year term of office.
The committee have 3 (online) meetings a year, which are usually 1-2hrs in duration. Time will also be needed to prepare for each meeting by reading the committee papers in advance.
Role Expectations
The QAND Committee act on behalf of the Association in order to assure AfN standards and competencies are being maintained across Certified Courses and Endorsed CPD activities. This is done by:
- Reviewing application data on both schemes on a quarterly basis.
- Strategically guiding AfN on the development of both schemes.
- Periodically review the processes employed for application and review of the schemes.
- Working with AfN staff to resolve issues relating to both schemes.
- Assisting where appropriate, on working groups within QAND Committee and the wider AfN Governance structure
There is also an opportunity for registrant members of the Committee to train as AfN Certification Assessors (ANutrs/RNutrs) and/or CPD Endorsement Assessors (RNutrs).
Assessment Criteria
Applications will be considered in line with the following criteria:
- Current registration as an ANutr or RNutr
- Experience of below degree courses and CPD programme Design
- Experience of delivering courses in an appropriate setting
- Experience as a QA assessor and/or willingness to train as an AfN Certification of CPD assessor.
