Health Improvement Specialist – Food, Nutrition & Workplace Health

About the role

In this important role, you will have specific responsibility for supporting the design and implementation of various health improvement interventions and projects as part of the North Somerset Health and Wellbeing Strategy. You will work alongside a team of managers, officers and external partners focusing on delivering a framework of interventions to meet the health and wellbeing needs of the local population.

This is a fixed term role for 18 months and candidates requesting a secondment will be considered.

About You

You will support the Public Health Team in achieving core public health objectives – improving health and reducing health inequalities, protecting and improving health and contributing to the quality of local public health services. This will be evidenced by your commitment to addressing inequalities in health and wellbeing.

You will have previous knowledge and experience around supporting the development of population and community-based public health initiatives that promote healthy eating and workplace health and wellbeing. You will have qualifications to at least level 6 and ideally have additional specialist training and practical experience in public health, health improvement, and/or nutrition/workplace health and wellbeing.

You will have excellent communication skills that you will use to support engagement with service users, stakeholders and communities.
