The Role

This is a senior, director-level global role with an ingredients company. You will be responsible for the strategic direction of health and nutrition for the business, driving growth from managing original research right through to translation into the development of commercial products for consumers. You must therefore have highly developed scientific expertise and technical knowledge, as well as a strong understanding of consumer insights. You will lead a dedicated team, so you will be a strong leader, with the ability and passion to develop talent.

Must Have Skills and Experience

  • PhD or minimum MSc in the area of Nutrition and Health
  • A minimum of 10 years professional experience working in the ingredients, food or pharma industries
  • Demonstrated scientific expertise and technical knowledge in nutrition science
  • Significant experience in the translation of nutrition science into commercial product opportunities
  • Experience in managing collaborative research projects, including understanding of study design and statistical analysis
  • Knowledge and experience of the regulatory environment, including claims development
  • Highly motivated, collaborative self-starter with strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
  • Confidence to drive thought leadership within the business
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and the ability to work cross-functionally
  • Highly developed communication skills, translating nutrition science to different audiences including consumers, health professionals and academics
  • A creative mindset, able to think innovatively about future ingredients and broader opportunities
  • Proven management and leadership skills including the ability to inspire and develop talent
  • Registered Nutritionist (RNutr) or Registration in Dietetics is desirable
