Mid Sussex Food Partnership (MSFP) is a network of social food providers and organisations, dedicated to increasing food sustainability and security across the whole of the Mid Sussex area. MSFP started developing this work in 2021, in conjunction with Mid Sussex Voluntary Action (MSVA), becoming an independent organisation in 2022. MSFP is a community group and a member of MSVA.
We’re looking for a team member who can share our passion for tackling food security, food poverty and food waste. Bringing together local and community food producers, distributors and both private and public organisations, the successful candidate will engage with and motivate key stakeholders to meaningfully raise the standard of food security across Mid Sussex. Innovative thinking, originating and working with new ideas, excellent communication skills, organizational ability, a team player and a strong work ethic are what we are looking for.
ROLE
-
- Foster partnerships and facilitate connections across Mid Sussex with organisations addressing food poverty, food waste and local/community food production and distribution.
- Work with our stakeholders ensuring that governance and financial policies are implemented and followed.
- Keep up to date with and share relevant and new information relating to food sustainability, security, poverty and waste with member organisations and other partners.
- Develop our involvement with and membership of other organisations in connection with furthering the work of MSFP and member organisations.
- Assist in the development of a vision supported by a food charter – broadly following the six key issues framework set out by Sustainable Food Places.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships to enable work with stakeholders, members, and partners and providing group support to communities across the district.
- Develop a communications strategy that promotes and markets the partnership and its aims and services, ensuring awareness is high within the community, political and voluntary sectors.
- Support the sustainable funding for the extension of this role, MSFP projects and members shared resources.
- Support partners to apply for funds for core work and to develop sustainable delivery models through connection with MSFP’s wider general infrastructure offer.
- Arrange and facilitate regular MSFP network meetings and events including networking, peer support, skill sharing, and training.
- Manage application for and distribution of grant funding.
- Lead/assist the development of fund raising for both MSFP and members.
- Complete monthly monitoring reports in line with contract requirements and collect evidence of outcomes and impact to demonstrate the value of MSFP for key stakeholders and funders.
- Act in accordance with MSFP’s equality policy, which is designed to prevent discrimination of any kind, and ensure equality of opportunity is a key principle that is continually embraced.
- Identify personal learning needs and proactively develop knowledge, through peer networks, training and reflective practice.
- Prioritise physical and mental wellbeing for self and good role modelling to other staff and member organisations.
